Lately, I have heard ads on the radio sponsored by the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance. Its tact is to suggest that if the state of Utah takes over large tracts of land, it will be bad for Utah taxpayers.

My thought is since when has SUWA cared even a little bit about Utah taxpayers? Over the years, SUWA has pretty much only shown condescending contempt for people who actually live and work in this state.

It would be much more honest for it to say that it is worried about the state taking over management of some of the land because SUWA and other similar organizations are more successful influencing the federal government than the state government, and the state might decide to use the land in ways other than what SUWA would like.
