The Blu-ray debut of "That '70s Show" and follow-up seasons on a variety of other TV programs highlight these new home-video releases.
"That '70s Show: Season One" (Mill Creek/Blu-ray, 1998-99, four discs, $24.98). Fans of the show wanting to upgrade to hi-def are well served by this gorgeous set. The sitcom itself is both a cleverly written nostalgic throwback and a showcase for an expert cast of comic actors, both young and old.
Some of the young players became breakout stars, chiefly Topher Grace, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. But the parents — sunny Debra Jo Rupp and exasperated Kurtwood Smith — often steal the show.
Extras widescreen, 25 episodes, featurettes
"Kojak: Season Three" (Shout! 1975-76, six discs, $44.99). Lollipop-sucking New York homicide detective Theo Kojak (Telly Savalas) is back in this third season of the popular '70s cop show. Take note of the episode that features Sylvester Stallone as a hot-headed cop investigated in a shooting incident — just a year before "Rocky." Other guests include Eli Wallach, Jerry Orbach, F. Murray Abraham, David Ogden Stiers, Veronica Hamel, John Larroquette, Edward James Olmos and Rosie Grier.

Eighties-style action and the stars' chemistry keep this one afloat. Beverly Garland co-stars and guests include Kim Darby, Kevin McCarthy, James Cromwell and Faith Ford.

If you have any doubts that 88-hear-old King can still rock like the blues guitarist he was in his youth, they should be erased by this remarkable performance, which includes Slash, Ronnie Wood, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and Mick Hucknall. "I Need You So," "Key to the Highway" and "The Thrill Is Gone" are highlights in a fabulous set.
