PROVO — A barrage of speculation and reports that Texas A&M would be bolting the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference brought attention to BYU as a potential candidate to join the Big 12.

But athletic director Tom Holmoe said Saturday, "We have not been contacted and I will not speculate. We've got a football game to play and that's my main concern."

Then, on Sunday, the SEC announced it would not be expanding at this time. Still, as KSL's Greg Wrubell reported, there were plenty of rumors involving BYU.

The Cougars, meanwhile, enter their second week of fall camp as they prepare for their season-opener against Ole Miss on Sept. 3.

The Rebels held a 105-play scrimmage on Saturday. Read a report of the scrimmage here. Ole Miss is trying to find a new quarterbacks and all those who played Saturday struggled, according to the Clarion-Ledger.
