Once plans for the LDS Church's renovation of the Provo Tabernacle into a temple became public, BYU's Redd Center started plans of its own to document the stories of the Tabernacle and downtown Provo.

The Charles Redd Center for Western Studies and BYU's College of Family, Home and Social Sciences teamed up to collect stories and conduct oral history interviews about downtown Provo, especially the Provo Tabernacle, to be placed in the L. Tom Perry Special Collections section of school's Harold B. Lee Library.

Residents with experiences to share are encouraged to do so by calling Jessie L. Embry, the associate director of the Redd Center at 801-422-7585 or email historicdowntownprovo@gmail.com.
