SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Indiana residents still reeling from a combination of ice, rain and nearly 2 feet of in snow in some northern areas have been left shivering with bitterly cold temperatures.

Authorities say at least two people have died weather-related deaths this week. A 93-year-old southern Indiana man froze to death in the rain Tuesday night, and a 57-year-old northwestern Indiana man collapsed in his garage shortly after using a snow blower on his driveway Wednesday morning.

The ice in central area led to numerous injuries.

Wishard Hospital spokesman Todd Harper says the Indianapolis Emergency Medical Service transported 197 people to Marion County hospitals as a result of falls on the ice Tuesday and Wednesday.

South Bend's temperature was 15 degrees at 2 p.m. Thursday after an overnight low of 1.
